We are currently seeking highly motivated Educators with a love for the outdoors. We are located on 430 acres of plush forest and Blackland prairie just 15 minutes northeast of McKinney, TX and we serve thousands of elementary school students from the 22+ districts in the Dallas Metroplex and greater area.
Duties: Leading trail lessons and activities such as: Lake Ecology, Canoeing and Fishing, Prairie Ecology, Man and Environment, Forest Ecology, Outdoor Living Skills, Archery, Conservation Projects, Low Ropes and Texas History.
Other Duties: Evening programs, program maintenance, school visits, professional/peer development, minor construction projects, sustainable program development, community involvement, staff training. Enjoy an enriching teaching environment with unique learning opportunities and have fun while doing it!
Pay: $350/wk to $375/wk. Housing and meals are included, as well as all training/certifications (CPR/1st Aid, on-site Ropes/Zip Line, Lifeguard, Curriculum, etc).
Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent. College degree or currently pursuing a degree. Teaching degree and/or camp experience is a plus, but this is also a great place to start. Desire to teach elementary age students. Enjoy working/being in the outdoors. Must be comfortable with social settings and facilitating groups, have good communication skills, be flexible and organized, and have good social/interpersonal skills.
