The Outdoor Education Instructors have been excited about National Environmental Education Week. They decided to share a DIY project with our camp family to promote environmental efforts. We hope you enjoy making these wildflower seed bombs for your flower beds!

Supplies Needed:

  • Peat-free compost
  • Wildflower seeds
  • Potters clay or potter clay powder
  • Water
  • Bowl
  • Baking Tray

 

Step 1: Take two or three handfuls of compost and add one handful of clay. Place in a bowl and mix together with hands.

Step 2: Add seeds to the soil and a small amount of water to the mixture and mix well.IMG_9613

Step 3: Form mixture into truffle-size balls and place on a baking sheet.IMG_9614

Step 4: Place the baking sheet in the sun for at least 3 hours to dry.IMG_9617

Step 5: Seed bombs can be planted or thrown into the grass.IMG_9619IMG_9618

We planted ours in our brand new flower garden by our Education Building!
